Lars Petrus Method

 

      

The Petrus method is the most famous block building solution. It was invented by the swedish Lars Petrus who finished 4th at the World Championship in 1982 using his method. It’s quite fast, it’s possible to avarage under 15 second with it, and it’s gtreat for FMC.

These are the main steps of the method, which can also be joined, of course.

 

1.. 2x2x2 block, at the back if it’s possible, so you can see more for the following steps

 

 

 

2. Extending this to a 2x2x3 block

 

 

 

3. Orientation of edges

 

 

 

4. Finishing the first two layers

 

 

 

5. + 6. + 7. Orient corners + Permute corners + Permute edges

 

 

In the examples I will always use the same colors, although using this method you can quite easily learn the „color neutrality” (unlike in the Roux method for example). This means, that you can start with any color – it is very good to find the shortest ways.
